Welcome to my final Donna Downey Studios Artist Gang Tuesday!
Today is my last day as a member of the first ever Donna Downey Studios Artist Gang. It was such and honor and a pleasure to be chosen to work with Donna and Bill, and all the other talented artists that were a part of the team.
Although this particular adventure has come to an end, I know that there are a lot more in store for me. There are some big changes coming for me in 2016, that I can’t yet talk about – some endings and beginnings. I know it will be difficult, but at the same time I’m excited about them too.
So let me tell you a little bit about today’s art journal page.
You’ve often heard me say that my art is a reflection of what is going on inside my head and heart. Well today’s art journal page is no exception.
The tragedy that recently occured in Paris has been on my mind and heart a lot lately. It’s made me reflect on the fragility of life.
Every day that we have here on earth is a gift, and we never know when that day will be our last.
We get so caught up in the crazy busyness of life that instead of making the most of each and every moment, we let the moments slip by, until days, become months and then months become years.
My art journal page is reminder to me that I need to be intentional about my life, and intentional about how I choose to spend my time.
The poppies represent everything that is good and beautiful about life and the butterfly represents our need to constantly change and evolve in our response to what life send our way.
